Opportunities
How Can I Help?
There are many ways to get involved with Herefordshire Heartstart. We are currently looking for volunteers to support us as:
- Instructors
- Course helpers
- Fundraisers
- Trustees
- Admin support
- Committee members
What Experience Do I Need?
None at all.
- All training is provided
- Friendliness, approachability, and enthusiasm are essential
- A passion for helping people in Herefordshire develop life-saving skills
How Do I Become a Volunteer?
Our volunteers come from all walks of life and all ages — including teaching, IT, healthcare, business, students, and other voluntary roles. Some have been personally affected by a life-threatening emergency, but all share the same aim: to save lives.
To become a volunteer:
- Have a chat with our coordinator
- Attend a Heartstart course
- Complete an application form
- Complete any required training
Why Volunteer?
Herefordshire Heartstart is a charity, and our volunteers make it possible for us to deliver free life-saving training to the community.
Could You Organise a One-Off Community Event?
We rely on fundraising events to help us continue delivering life-saving Heartstart courses across Herefordshire. Your event could even be linked to a Heartstart course running in your local area.
Ideas include:
- Open garden
- Bingo night or quiz night
- Coffee morning
- Pamper evening
- Sponsored cycle, swim, run, or walk
- Concert or open mic night
If you're planning to fundraise in aid of Herefordshire Heartstart, we'd love to hear from you. We can offer support and help promote your event on our website and social media channels.
